Tucking into bed, kinda nervous about tomorrow… A lot. So many things rushing through my head. Will Park Police shut us down the minute we hit McPherson Square? Will anybody even show up, or care? Not sure. All I really know is that deploying this guerrilla gallery in DC is, so far, probably the single most important arts anything I have undertaken here in Our Nation’s Capital — and I’ll never be able to ever adequately thank the dream[-come-true] team supporting me and this crazy idea.

This guerrilla gallery of Occupy DC art has to happen. And in about ten hours, it will. Here goes nothin’ but chutzpah.

I stopped in to visit my latest VESTIBULE Co-Conspirator, who has been hard at work creating our guerrilla gallery modules for the pop-up #OccupyDCart exhibition I’ve been working on bringing to the Occupy DC encampment at McPherson Square. When I saw the modules in person and on full display, I literally jumped up-and-down with joy. (In fact, for this shot, photographer Liz Gorman had to tell me not to smile.)

Some of my best friends are my tourmates of #Bus4teen on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour. And they’re who I think of when I wear this T-shirt from the collection I amassed that summer. Everyone sweated their asses off on a daily, and with laundry facilities few and far between, making friends with the DIY designers on tour was a must if you wanted clean clothes.
That’s why KKBB Apparel, Holiday Clothing, and (of course) Babycakes are my ride-or-die homies for life xo

Johnny Mathis’s Christmas album on vinyl playing while Kevin (our handyman like the ones you see on sitcoms, always over fixing stuff and hanging out) builds me a wider door in the kitchen of The Swagger Suite, and Ann-Marie handcrafts ornaments in our cozy parlor at the Park View Palace.
My life is like a movie, and here’s a piece of the raw footage.

Issey Miyake is one of my favorite menswear designers in the world, thanks in large part to the way he mashes up technology and fashion.
So when I noticed that he recently sent his models down the runway in his Spring 2012 collection with rolled-up sleeves on their oversized trenchcoats, I had to follow suit.
